Phillies lose series to Braves with loss Sunday | Giants in town tonight with Jesús Luzardo pitching for the Phils

Well right after ending their losing streak the other day, the Phillies promptly lose once again, but I'm not more discouraged than I was to begin with. The Braves look good and I'm glad they got that miserable streak over with.

Sunday was rough once again. Aaron Nola pitched poorly again and I can't really recall the last time he had a quality start, or stacked good performances together. I feel like this should be a bigger discussion amongst Phillies fans. But Aaron Nola is in a weird spot where he's a beloved player and, with now former Phillie pitcher Taijuan Walker pitching poorly and Jesús Luzardo pitching poorly, Nola's struggles sort of go a bit under the radar. But Walker is gone now and Wheeler is back. Nola may begin to be noticed more here if he continues this downward trend. He got through 4 2/3 innings Sunday, allowing six runs. He's now 1-3 with a 6.03 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP in 2026 after coming off the worst season of his career. Eh....

Jesús Luzardo seems equally, if not more lost than Nola. He pitches tonight and hopefully he can show improvement. He's 1-3 with a 6.92 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. Eerily similar to Nola quite frankly. Nuts.

The season is 17% completed with May right around the corner. The boys are ten games below .500. SHEESH. They gotta do some soul searching but we all do sometimes!

The comeback will hopefully be sweet! They're back home tonight, maybe that will inspire some change. They had a day off too. Let's try to regroup and get that tenth win!
