The Phillies lose their fourth straight game. The offense continues to look awful. The Braves are slowly growing their lead in the NL East. It's early but the Braves now have a five game lead in the division, a 5.5 game lead over the Phillies. What is happening?!

Cristopher Sánchez had a solid outing, allowing only three runs in six innings. But it just doesn't matter when the offense is a joke. This offensive decline was so predictable too. After scoring thirteen runs in their last victory on Monday, the Phillies have now averaged less than two runs a game during this four game losing streak.

It's rather easy to say that the Phillies will turn this around, and they could. The season is long, so there's plenty of opportunities to get hot. But the long season could be a curse... plenty of opportunity to lose too. Ugh. The Phillies are currently 8-12.

Also, in some sort of sick twist of fate the Phillies are to face the Cubs AGAIN in the next series, which is a four game series! After that series they face the Braves AGAIN. My goodness...

In some bright, heartwarming news, the Phillies called up rookie Felix Reyes yesterday and in his very first at-bat he homers! Against Chris Sale of all people! Not bad! That must be one of the best feelings ever. I'm happy for him, hopefully he can add more life to this offense going forward! What a moment! I was busy at the time, but luckily I did happen to see this at-bat in full, pretty awesome!

Rookie Andrew Painter takes the mound in a big spot tonight to help stop this losing streak and avoid getting swept. Let's hope he's locked in. Maybe he can get an at-bat or two while he's at it HA.

Hopefully this is just a rut for the Phils. I hope this aging roster isn't starting to decline...

I guess the stress of watching them keeps life interesting. It'll feel good when they turn it around!
