For a second straight game, the Phillies offense has been pretty sluggish. Zack Wheeler helped hide the poor offense a bit with his start in game one, but yesterday it couldn't quite be hidden. The Phillies only mustered three hits and one run in the 3-1 loss. Props to Sonny Gray of the Red Sox, he pitched pretty well.

Andrew Painter actually had a respectable outing for the first time in awhile. It was nothing spectacular but it was quite acceptable. He got through five innings and just allowed one run. His ERA and WHIP are still not great but they did shrink a bit with his outing.

Today the Phillies face a familiar pitcher in Ranger Suárez! Suárez had a good eight year career with the Phillies from 2018-2025. He was 53-37 with the team and had a 3.38 ERA and a 1.255 WHIP. He was also an All-Star in 2024.

Ranger is basically an above average pitcher. He is with a good franchise in the Red Sox so I'm happy for him. I hope he does well other than today! He's starting off 2026 with some seriously strong numbers. He's 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA and an excellent 0.95 WHIP.

It will be weird to see him pitch against the Phillies but this is business! I wonder who will have the upper hand today. Should be interesting if Ranger knows the lineup well, or the lineup knows Ranger well!

Jesús Luzardo is on the mound tonight. Hopefully he's the good version of himself. He might be the most inconsistent pitcher on the team. He's either really good, or pretty bad. Not many average outings by him.

Let's get this series boys, it would be their fifth series victory in a row!
