Phillies lose 9-1 in series finale vs Dodgers | Aaron Nola on the mound today vs Padres

In all honesty, there's not much to say about the Phillies loss to the Dodgers on Sunday. It was a pretty depressing 9-1 loss. Couldn't pitch, couldn't hit. It was just pretty rough. Rookie starting pitcher Andrew Painter unsurprisingly struggled against the relentlessly strong lineup that the Dodgers have. He only managed to get through 3 1/3 innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk. Not ideal but even veterans struggle against the Dodgers so, I'm not panicking quite yet about Painter.

The starting pitcher for the Dodgers, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was really mowing down the Phillies. Yamamoto was pulled after 5 1/3 innings purely because he had a high pitch count. In that time he managed to record 10 strikeouts and allow zero runs! The Phillies seemed to want to make Yamamoto pitch deep into counts, and it was a respectable strategy but the problem of course was the fact that the Dodgers were excellent offensively, and once Yamamoto was pulled, the Phillies couldn't score against the Dodgers bullpen.

It is what it is, the Phillies are still overall trending in a mostly positive direction. Tonight, the Phillies face the Padres once again right after facing them prior to this Dodgers series!

This time the series takes place at home. Nick Castellanos makes his return to Philadelphia which should be interesting! I hope the fans are positive!

Pretty good vibes.

Aaron Nola looks to stay on the right path on the mound as he gets the start.

Nice to see the fellas back home!
