Phillies get their 95th win of 2025 yesterday! Only two more regular season games left!
Aaron Nola pitched perhaps his best game of 2025 last night, I'm happy for the guy and the Phillies! He got his 5th win, hopefully this is a sign of things to come in the playoffs for Nola. Edmundo Sosa also hit his 11th homer! It's his career high, I'm happy for him too. He's one of the best utility/bench players in the game! Jhoan Durán came in and got the save against his former team. So yeah for all of those reasons it was a nice, memorable victory.
The Phillies enter tonight's contest vs the Twins with still a small chance at the #1 seed. Two wins for the Phillies and two losses for the Brewers, and the top spot goes to Philly. Ranger Suárez looks to bounce back after a rough last outing and get his 13th win of the season. Hopefully he ends the year strong! Former Phillie Mick Abel gets the start against the Phillies tonight. What an odd player to have to face at the end of the season. Mick was sent to the Twins in exchange for Jhoan Durán earlier this season. Durán has obviously been huge for the Phillies but Abel can still certainly develop into a really good pitcher. Hopefully Mick doesn't make the Phillies regret trading him tonight.
The Wild Card races are down to just a few teams now. The Reds and Mets in the NL, and the Guardians, Tigers, and Astros are entrenched in a wicked race of their own in the AL. Not Phillies related but it's still always fun to watch these races as a baseball fan! Excited to see how it all plays out. I won't be crying if the Mets choke LOL.
Should be a good night of baseball and UFC, FOOTBALL tomorrow!
