Phillies get swept by Houston, scoring a grand total of 1 run in series | Start series in Atlanta tonight + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 70
Well I was a bit busy the last day or so but there wasn't too much to write about anyway. The Phillies seemingly forgot how to hit the past few days against the Astros. After getting shutout on Tuesday, the Phils were shutout AGAIN Wednesday and only scored a single run yesterday. Pretty bad.
Ranger Suárez, Zack Wheeler and Cristopher Sánchez all had great outings for the Phillies too. Each pitcher allowed only a single run in each of their performances, and the Astros only scored five runs themselves throughout the three game series.
Just really tough to see the guys not even get ONE of those games. It was overall a very odd matchup, it felt like a whole phase of the game was gone, and the sport became a whole new beast of pitchers vs pitchers. Pretty interesting, I just wish the Phillies would have not gotten swept as a result. Baseball is so strange sometimes.
Hopefully the Phillies can just move on and win tonight in Atlanta. The offense just needs to hit the ball, not much else to it. Rookie Mick Abel on the mound for the Phils, hopefully Abel is continuing to learn and adjust, he's been ok, but has had some moments of growing pains. I'm curious to see his development tonight.
There are storms in the Atlanta area so the game could be impacted by the weather we shall see. Summer is definitely here!
