The Phillies played spoiler again vs the Rays! The Rays have competed well in these two games but the Phillies have just been better. Last night the Rays battled back and forth with the Phillies and entering the eighth inning the game was tied 4-4. But in the eighth, the Phillies broke the game wide open with a five run eighth that sealed it.

Another bench player shined for the Phillies in this one. The day before it was Kody Clemens and yesterday Cal Stevenson showed up in a big way with a pinch hit two run double to start off the eighth and give the Phillies the lead. Love to see everyone contribute. It's going to take performances like this to win in October.

Tonight the Phillies can not only sweep the Rays but they can hopefully extend their lead in the race for the best record in baseball as the Dodgers have now fallen back a game. They'll be facing the Cubs later tonight.

Zack Wheeler on the mound tonight, wouldn't want any other pitcher than him to try to get the job done. He can strengthen his resume for a Cy Young with a great performance tonight!

Fun time to be a Phils fan.
