Phillies could ACTUALLY win a series tonight.
Besides my typical laziness, I've been dogsitting and MAN this dude exhausts me at times. Doesn't help that the Phillies are playing night games on the freaking west coast. SHEESH. Oh well, I've had worse problems in life that's for sure!
But yes, the Phillies have been playing quite terribly lately. Not White Sox terrible but, still, pretty stinking bad. After such an excellent start it has been a bit of a letdown after the All-Star break.
All the Phillies can do is control the here and now, and they've currently split the last two games with an excellent Dodgers team. Dodgers currently have 66 wins and the Phillies have 67. While the two teams certainly aren't division rivals, putting some distance between a fellow National League contender is not a bad thing whatsoever.
Rookie Tyler Phillips looks to bounce back after his awful performance in his last start where I believe he gave up eight runs. I sure hope he bounces back, would be great to see him as a Phillie for a long time considering he's a hometown kid. Phils are set to face Gavin Stone. Stone is 9-5 with a 3.63 ERA.
The weather in Los Angeles is predictably perfect. 78 degrees, partly cloudy. Quite the opposite from the weather out here in the east.
First pitch in roughly twenty-five minutes, hopefully I don't nod off! This west coast trip is killing me LOL.
