Phillies continue to struggle as they look to bounce back against the Guardians + Phillies trade for Orioles' Austin Hays

Phillies continue to struggle after a 3-1 loss yesterday vs the Guardians. I only caught the last three innings as I was busy but, I did watch the last few with innings my son. From what I can tell looking at the statistics, Cristopher Sanchez did not even pitch too badly. Three earned runs in six innings is not too awful. The offense has to improve at the moment.

Crazy thing is, as the offense as a whole is struggling, Bryson Stott, who was slumping, has now been hitting better. He was three for four yesterday with a homer. Crazy how that works. Five other Phillies went 0-4. It would be nice to see the Phillies actually win a series against an elite team!

Perhaps as a result of these recent struggles, the Phillies have traded for Orioles' All-Star caliber outfielder Austin Hays. Hays has struggled a bit in 2024 but was an All-Star last season. He is fairly young at 29, and still has some talent. It will be nice to see a new bat in the lineup to provide some life to the team hopefully. I think it's a pretty good idea.

Today's Game - 6:05 P.M. EST

The Phillies bats hopefully have a chance to do some damage today. They're facing a pitcher with some pretty poor stats in Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco comes in with a 3-8 record, 5.32 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. The Phillies have to take advantage of this opportunity if they are as elite as they want to be.

The Phillies will be sending out rookie Tyler Phillips once again. I have a good feeling about this guy. I think he'll continue to pitch well and be a fan favorite.

It will be a perfect day for baseball in Philly. Mostly sunny, about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Love to see it. ☀️⚾

More of this quest to the Hall of Fame! I have lost footage here and there for various reasons but, I will try to have most of this career uploaded.
