Phillies avoid getting swept as they shutout the Pirates 6-0 + A.D. Hammer's journey continues
Ohhhhhh yes! Finally the losing streak is over and the Phils get a freaking win over Pittsburgh! They also avoid the dreaded sweep.
Tyler Phillips pitched quite well and it was much needed. He pitched six super clean innings.
The lineup also came alive today. Every player in the batting order reached base, and nearly every batter recorded a hit besides Schwarber. Schwarber did walk twice though. Six different players had a single R.B.I. as well which I find pretty cool. A really balanced offensive attack today for sure. Nick Castellanos hit his 13th homerun.
It's always fun seeing the Phils play Pittsburgh. Battle of PA is just a cool thing. These past two games are the first time the teams have faced each other when they both have winning records since 2011. Sheesh, time is flying.
