When will the next win come?...

Oh Phillies...whyyyyyyyyyyyy? They're really breaking my heart right about now. If this keeps up much longer, the question must soon be asked: Do the Phillies suck?
I think manager Rob Thomson is starting to lose it too. I gotta give him credit for trying to spice things up at least. He attempted to bring Taijuan Walker in after the first inning without much success. He still managed to allow four runs in four innings. Thomson even experimented in other rather random ways. Bryce Harper was at DH yesterday and Felix Reyes was in the lineup and played first base. Kyle Schwarber hit leadoff and played left field for the first time in ages. Edmundo Sosa went 2 for 2 with an RBI but then they inserted Bryson Stott out of the blue who promptly went 0 for 2. I guess Thomson and the team are just trying stuff. I don't hate it. He could just stick with the same routine and hope players figure it out, but how long will ya wait?
Oddly enough the Phillies did record nine hits, but only mustered up two runs. Alec Bohm actually went 2 for 4 which was decent to see as he's been struggling.
The Phillies have basically played 15% of their games so far in 2026 and they are already 24% of the way towards their total loss total from 2025. I may have worded that terribly but basically the math is starting to not math very well...
The Phillies can turn it around but as I mentioned in my Titans post, time has no mercy. The Phillies are eight games under .500, no matter what time of the season that's going to be hard to overcome and obviously take time. If they do get hot, hopefully they get hot enough and avoid a big slump like this again. If they do stabilize this season, they can't afford a dip this bad the rest of the way.
Zack Wheeler is set to return Saturday which is some positive news. Maybe he can provide a spark and throw a gem perhaps. He'll be facing the Braves. The Phillies actually just released Taijuan Walker too, which is somewhat big but definitely unsurprising news. After a lone solid season in 2023, Walker has only regressed progressively ever since. While this news isn't shocking maybe other players on the roster will see that the team isn't afraid to release underperforming guys as Walker did have a pretty lucrative contract.
I am perhaps being a bit dramatic about the Phillies, but eh, it's a rough watch right now. Also, I am trying to make light of it a bit with the memes and everything. But man, this losing streak needs to end soon.
The Phillies look to avoid getting swept in four games today with Cristopher Sánchez on the mound. It's the final game the Phillies will play vs the Cubs in 2026 as they will have played the Cubs in seven out of their last ten games. Thanks goodness this is the last game, as they've been killing the Phils. Five of these eight losses in a row have come from them! It would be nice to get a victory in this final regular season matchup against them.
I hope Sánchez can throw a complete game shutout, because I have no idea how else he'll get the win! 🤣😭
Come on boys WAKE UP!!!
