Edmundo Sosa stays red hot as the Phillies get another W! | Phils look to get their first sweep of 2025 today + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 36
My goodness, the Phillies are firing on all cylinders at the moment. We may be just three percent through this MLB season but every single win counts! Playoff races in baseball can get super tight in September, so stacking wins in March and April count just the same!
Many Phillies have been starting strong, but one player that stands out big time is Edmundo Sosa! He has always been super solid but at this point in time, this dude is torturing teams! He feels like an automatic hit as soon as he steps to the plate. He's a super utility player, but I don't know how Rob Thomson can take him out of the lineup until he cools off. IF he cools off! Not only is he red hot right now, but his fun spirit and great positive energy makes him even more fun to watch. Some baseball players are rather serious but, he clearly has so much fun playing ball.
Edmundo has appeared in four straight games and has had multiple hits in each game and added three more yesterday. His batting average is currently an absurd .600 and his on base percentage is .625. His numbers are not only really excellent, but the man has been as clutch as it gets! The man is must see TV right now!! I hope he keeps it up!

Zack Wheeler did his part on the mound as expected as he dispatched Rockies' batters 10 times on his way to his first win of the season.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, because there are some mild flaws for the Phils. It would be nice to see them find success against some starting pitchers, and they did leave a good amount of runners in scoring position. But still the vibes are pretty electric in Philly right now. Maybe I'm just grateful to watch winners after the Titans and Sixers horrible seasons LOL.
Today could be mildly challenging as Taijuan Walker hits the mound for the Phillies for the first time after his forgettable 2024 campaign. Perhaps a fresh start will be good for him. I will definitely be interested to see how he does. It could be a bullpen game, we shall see. For what it's worth the Phils will be facing Colorado's Antonio Senzatela who is not exactly elite himself. It may be an offensive showcase today indeed!
Would be great to see the Phillies get their first sweep of the season!! I'm locked in! The rain held off for the most part yesterday, and the chance of rain is about the same today but I think it should be dry enough at Citizens Bank Park.
