Cam Ward making some bold statements ahead of the 2025-26 season! | Titans @ Falcons Preseason Preview

We're pretty much smack dab in the center of August right now and oh yes it's glorious. Real football is nearly here.

But for now there's some appetizers before the main course. The Titans prepare for their second game of the preseason in Atlanta before hurdling towards hopefully their new era.

Rookie quarterback Cam Ward is making some confident statements before the start of the season, saying that he wants the offense to be top ten in 2025-26, while also saying the Titans' receiving group can be top five in the league AND that he wants Brian Callahan to be considered a top five coach in the NFL by season's end.

Ward says he likes to try to speak things into existence. I find that reasoning behind making these statements maybe a bit corny but hey if these things turn out to be true that would indeed be some epic Conor McGregor-like predictions. I do appreciate the confidence for sure, I guess I am just a bit skeptical that those THREE things can come true. But hey, it is rather exciting. I don't consider what he said to be impossible by any means but just a bit unlikely.

I guess I'm just a bit conflicted by the statements but hey, the Titans stunk these last few seasons so what does the team really have to lose at this point? I also do appreciate that he seems to embrace Nashville and the place the Titans are in in terms of ya know, power rankings. He seems to understand the team is massively considered to be underdogs by pretty much everyone and takes it as a challenge.

At the end of the day, it is really cool that he's not always the cookie cutter guy that says the basics in press conferences.

So yeah, I appreciate the confidence even if it feels a bit premature. Believe me I hope Cam is right!!! I guess from the Vrabel era fizzling as it did to the mini attempt with Will Levis, I just don't know how to feel about bold statements like that.

The statements have gotten me more excited though I can't even lie!

The Titans will be in Atlanta for this final game. Outside linebacker, cornerback and receiver depth are some key areas to watch besides Cam of course. Players are expected to play about the same amount they played last week. So the first quarter and a half should be exciting I'd say. The team recently re-signed Trevor Siemian as the possible QB3 after Tim Boyle struggled big time in last week's preseason action. Siemian has a lot of experience so he's definitely a solid pickup to have in the QB room.

The defense didn't look all that sharp last week so I'm hoping to see them play a little better in general.

Phillies and Titans action tomorow, UFC on Saturday. Let's go!
