Cam Ward has respectable Preseason Debut for the Titans vs Bucs

The preseason is typically pretty boring but for the Titans all eyes were on the number one pick, quarterback Cam Ward! The Titans actually do have a pretty decent roster I believe but they desperately need at least a decent QB to start being competitive. Hopefully Cam Ward can be more than decent of course! But we gotta take this one step at a time. On Saturday, Ward indeed looked decent and that's a start!

Ward finished 5/8 for 67 yards. Zero picks, zero touchdowns. He did throw one that was close to an interception but close doesn't count! What I did like about Cam was that he didn't look like he was trying to be too safe or cute. With a ton of pressure on young QBs and QBs in general, sometimes they play it too safe and worry about playing perfect. I think Cam had a good balance of playing confident but NOT reckless.

All in all, it's just his first taste of NFL action, and I think Cam looked fine. Looked like a pro! I don't want to get too high or too low as a fan. Frankly I won't know how to feel about Cam until after year one. Really, ultimately I won't know how to feel until after year two. This is going to be a journey! Cam and Calvin Ridley looked locked in together which was encouraging!

Calvin Ridley had three receptions for 51 yards! TWELVE different Titans recorded a reception on Saturday! That's pretty awesome that everyone got a chance to see some action! It may just be preseason but this is still a pretty big time for these pros in general.

It's hard to make real predictions or take away much from these games. But the Titans are finding their way slowly but surely. I feel generally positive.
