A's win series vs Royals Thursday, start off on the wrong foot vs Guardians yesterday | Jacob Lopez on the mound today
Yikes, I've been busy but doing what I gotta do. It was a decent little break though.
It's May now, but the A's final game of April went well. They defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-3 in what became largely a bullpen game after Jacob Springs got through three innings, allowing two runs. Luis Medina, Scott Barlow, Brady Basso, and Jack Perkins collectively allowed just a single run the final six innings. Basso the man specifically who gave up the run in his 1 1/13 innings of work. Luis Medina pitched the most of the four, tossing a scoreless 2 2/3 innings. Offensively, the A's recorded eleven hits. Shea Langeliers and Darell Hernáiz each go 3 for 4 and combine for 3 RBI. Nick Kurtz extends his walk streak to 19, pretty insane. The A's win the series, pretty awesome!
Yesterday the Cleveland Guardians visit. It was an 8-5 loss but not an overly ugly one. The pitching was essentially below average and the offense was acceptable. J.T. Ginn pitched 4 1/3 innings but gave up 5 runs on five hits, five walks. The bullpen didn't fair much better and the Guardians tacked on 3 more. Offensively, Brent Rooker had his first big game since returning from injury. He went 2 for 5, with 3 RBI. A two-run homer and an RBI single. Nick Kurtz walks for the 20th straight game, tying Barry Bonds for 2nd all time in MLB history!
Currently the A's are playing game two of the Guardians series at home. They're up 2-1 with Jacob Lopez pitching fairly well. I hope Kurtz can continue his walk streak. I guess a good game overall is better than keeping the streak alive, but the streak is cool!
Another big night of sports ahead. I've been busy but hey trying to be consistent. At the end of the day I'm having a good time writing on sports. It's pretty awesome.
