Well yesterday STUNK. I could taste the victory man! Nick Kurtz, Zack Gelof, and Shea Langeliers all did their part offensively for the most part. Kurtz homered for the second consecutive day, it was his seventh of the season. Zack Gelof also homered for the second day in a row, it was his fifth. Shea Langeliers went three for five with two RBI! But besides those three, there wasn't much help by others in the lineup and by the ninth inning the A's only held a 4-3 lead.

Jordan Walker of the Cardinals showed he's on track to have a career year as he homered himself and ended up driving in the winning run in the ninth. The A's couldn't respond and that's all she wrote. ROUGH. Jacob Lopez of the A's was a bit shaky once again but he was ok I guess.

The A's move on and host the Giants tonight. The Giants and A's of course used to be extremely close to one another in Oakland and San Francisco and their series was typically called the 'Bay Bridge Series' or 'Battle of the Bay' due to their super close proximity (roughly nine miles) and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge separating them. But now, since the A's are in a transition period, it's been described as the 'I-80 Series' since the A's are playing in West Sacramento. Sutter Health Park isn't nine miles away from Oracle Park, but it's still roughly just an hour and half away, roughly 85.5 miles away. Once the A's move to Las Vegas, I wonder what they'll call that series. I hope there's a name to honor that history. It's also not as if they will be insanely far from each other.

It would be nice to see the A's stack some wins in a bigger way soon. But I am still pretty optimistic about them this year and over the next several years for the most part. I like their chances today as the Giants seem to be struggling a bit and Aaron Civale has been strong.

It will be fairly warm in West Sacramento. Mid 80's most of the game it seems, but should dip into the mid 70's from what I can tell.

Let's see how it goes!
