A's show great resilience in victory over Mariners! | Jacob Lopez on the mound tonight
For the third straight game the A's have proven that no lead is safe when you're playing them. For three straight games the A's have shown great fight, successfully completing comebacks two of the three contests.
The A's were punched in the mouth early again yesterday, but they punched back! They came back in pretty cool fashion too. After being down 3-0 the A's hit three consecutive solo shots by Carlos Cortes (his second of 2026), Nick Kurtz (his third of 2026), and Shea Langeliers (his seventh of 2026)! Carlos Cortes is a player that I've been getting good vibes from in general as I get to know the roster more. Then in the eighth the A's buried the Mariners once and for all with three insurance runs. Just an awesome win to get back above .500 and inconvenience the Mariners who were the AL West Champions a year ago.
J.T. Ginn had an acceptable outing on the mound which I can appreciate. He pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing three runs.
Jacob Lopez takes the mound tonight. It would be a great time for him to have a good start as he's been shaky to start the year. It would be really big to further bury the Mariners early in the season.
When people think of the AL West, most people think about the Astros or Mariners...but the A's are coming in hot I tell ya!
The weather is ideal in Seattle, let's go!
