I'm a bit behind but the Sixers are rolling!

On New Year's Day the Sixers went into Dallas and beat the Mavericks without much issue. The Big Three played again and the Sixers were successful once again. It's pretty nutty that they're actually playing together for real. Maxey led all scorers with 34.

Then on Saturday the Sixers were up in New York City to face the Knicks and once again they won and were in control of the game for the most part throughout! Once again the Big Three played! The Sixers are now 2-0 versus the Knicks in 2025-26! EXCELLENT!

We may have to redefine who is truly a part of this Big Three though. At least from a scoring perspective, V.J. Edgecombe seems to be the third option when this Big Three is on the court. Paul George is still contributing well but he's not scoring a ton. I find this development interesting without a doubt. Even if Paul George is older now and not the same caliber player as he was in his prime, the thought that he could be a FOURTH option could be a championship trait.

V.J. has just been thriving on the court in recent games with Maxey, Embiid, and George by his side. It's like with all eyes on them, Edgecombe seems to be overlooked. If they do put too many eyes on Edgecombe, the talent elsewhere could be overwhelming for Sixers' opponents. George and Embiid are such big dudes, that it seems to allow Maxey and Edgecombe to fly around.

After five straight road games, the Sixers are back home to face the Denver Nuggets who of course will be without Nikola Jokić as he deals with his knee hyperextension. The former MVP should return at some point this season though and that franchise has a lot of pride and skill so they'll be coming out firing.

The Sixers sit at 19-14, which places them at fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Man it's nice when one of your teams are actually good, LOL.

Should be a nice night.
