Well the Mariners came into West Sacramento on a mission and I'd say that for them, it was mission accomplished. They swept the A's and took first place in the AL West without much of a genuine fight. It was really just pure domination, and there's not a ton to gather other than, the A's stunk.

After losing the series finale 9-1, the series was lost by a grand total of 22-4.

I suppose it's just all humbling right now. The A's are a young team and I think they'll learn from this in the long run. Hopefully.

The bats have fallen asleep, but since the offense is typically pretty good, I am not too upset. I think the pitching is the most concerning thing about this team. It seems that there's this unofficial agreement that the pitching was never gonna be too great, and that the bats would have to carry this team if the A's were going to be in playoff contention. So in that case, it is unfortunate the bats aren't doing well, because well, that means they aren't holding up their end of the bargain. It's just a weird place to be for a team that's still forming a genuine identity.

The competition doesn't get any easier as Luis Severino is set to face the team he was on for practically a decade in the New York Yankees.

A lot of eyeballs will be on this game, and the Phillies game as they face the Dodgers! My teams are under the spotlight, hopefully they shine!
