A's get a competitive victory vs Rangers | They look to win crucial four game series today!
The A's snagged a solid victory over the Rangers last night! It was an entertaining enough win. While I'd rather have the A's win in dominant fashion, this win threaded the needle of winning a close game without stressing me out too badly.
The A's jumped out to a good 2-0 lead. The Rangers managed to then tie it up for awhile. Then in back to back innings in the sixth and seventh the A's tacked on two runs consecutively, giving them a four run lead and the game looked pretty much in control. But then Jake Burger struck yet again with his third homer of the series , it was a three run shot that made the game 6-5 in the eighth. Yikes, Jake Burger has been teeing off on the A's unfortunately.
But still they held on and got the win. J. T. Ginn pitched what I would call a gritty 5 1/3 innings which was appreciated. Shea Langeliers hit his sixth homer of the year, Jacob Wilson hit his first homer of the year!
The A's now have a strong 10-8 record and have sole control of first place in the AL West for the first time since 2021, nearly five years! It's still early of course but it's still great to see!
Personally, it's been so satisfying to watch both the A's and Phillies. Some may question my loyalty but...oh well! This is sports, it's for fun! I don't care what anyone thinks! I love both teams and it's just as simple as that.
It will be fascinating when the A's and Phillies play each other in a few weeks LOL. I will just watch for fun and not care much who wins. I guess whoever needs the wins more in their playoff race I'll be happier for.
The A's look to win the series today with Jacob Lopez on the mound, let's go!
