76ers to face Nets tonight
Sixers continue to lose. It's pretty amazing at this point how they manage to pull this off. On Wednesday the team faced a much less talented Grizzlies team and still lost. At least I think the Grizzlies are lesser, who knows amymore. The Sixers actually had all three main players on the court in Embiid, Maxey and George. But it was clearly a shell of what their potential and expectations are. Maxey was on a heavy minutes restriction coming back from his injury, George has not been that great, and Embiid looks a little out of it and not in great shape. Also, George got injured again with ANOTHER bone bruise. I may be mistaken but it may be the exact same knee. It's wild bad luck this year.
The Sixers continue to ask too much of rookie Jared McCain and other role players and vets. Guerschon Yabusele has been nice too but again he is just a role player.
I have no idea who is going to play night in and night out at this point. George is out the next two games I believe.
Although the season steadily approaches disaster it would be nice to get a win finally, and a win over the former Sixer Ben Simmons. Ben had the strangest up and down career as a Sixer. He was looked at as the next LeBron but quickly started to look like a poor man's Andre Iguodala that couldn't shoot threes and had an attitude problem. A seriously weird series of unfortunate events in general. He's not a villain fully in Philly sports lore, but he's kinda close. Just awkward more than anything. Sad in a way too because of all his potential.
Will be interesting to see how Philly fans react. But bottom line is this team needs a win. Maybe Simmons can help the Sixers turn the season around even if he's in a different uniform LOL.
