I'm too scared to eat the ones near me. Too many things I've seen happening in that bush haha.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Well, for the reason you considered, I believe it's crucial to pay attention where you're piking them. However, there are many blackberry bushes growing quite tall in wild areas nearby where I reside, and I'm confident that are safe to eat. I've harvested them plenty of times, and I see others doing likewise. Once harvested, I also soak them with baking soda at home for 10 minutes and then rinse, just to make sure they are all clean up from any kind of armful bacteria. If I'm still alive and thriving, I must be doing okay. 😂 You should come on over to Chertsey and pick some up later. Their harvesting will continue throughout July and even into August.
That's awesome. Sometimes when I'm on a farm or countryside I do eat them directly from the plant. I have good immunity so I'm usually ok. Just a city like London is too busy and people don't respect nature enough 😂
