Tipping is not compulsory but necessary.
Welcome back to my blog for the last edition of our topics for the week. It is with great pleasure and happiness that I acknowledge all the #hive learners community members for their efforts every week to make post that are so enriching to us. For some it gives me joy to go to their blogs to read from their articles because it is so educating and enlightening. And to all the moderators, Weldon job.
Moving on to the topic for the week I believe that there is no where in the world that we can't see or hear about tipping. It is something that we do every day. Sometimes we don't even count how many times we have given one or two persons tipping in a week. Our elders say that when the left hand washes the right, then the right hand should also wash the left hand. One good turn deserves another. This is a normal way of life. We practice it every day.
SHOULD TIPPING BE COMPULSORY?
That is where we will have problem. Yes because something that I ma sopposed to do from my heart to another person, when it becomes by force, then I might not do it again. This is how human being react to issues of life. Some one who wanted to show appreciation to another person for a work well done can decide not to do it again if the person sees it as his or her right. It is not by merit. It just come from the heart. People should be allowed to give to others willingly. Showing of appreciation comes from the heart. Do you know that sometimes when people are been forced to give in church to God, they decide not to give at all. That is me oo. If the man of God says that because God has given us life, it is then by force that we must come to thank God with #50,000, I will not go oo. I can give above that amount if I have it and not under any kind of compulsure. It is better to allow people give from their hear than to force them to give.
When I was in my 200 level on school one lecturer told us that we must give him something because he has been taking his time to teach us. We just laughed at him and never responded to that. Only a few students who were afraid of him went to give him something small so that he can pass them in his course. That didn't move most of us become know what we are doing in school. I know my right as a student. And I know what is expected of me as a student. I never gave any lecturer the opportunity of making their demands because I didn't give them the chance. While some students keep going to their houses to great with envelope to show appreciation for teaching us, we all know that it is because they need more marks after exams.
In summery, tipping should be given from the heart and not by force or compulsory. When people give from their hearts it comes with more blessings. But when they are forced to give they don't have any blessings for it.

Surely ma
Given is something that should comes from the heart because there is more blessings attached to it.
Thanks for sharing ma
Well in most cases it might look like we are not being forced or it is from the heart but deep down we know that the only reason why we are tipping a particular person is not just for appreciation but to get better service and favours from them next time.
The line between tipping for the right reasons and for the wrong reasons kind of blur overtime. In most cases tipping start looking a lot similar to bribe.
Tipping should never be compulsory otherwise it is not a tip but instead a tax or charge no matter what the situation.

I love your perspective. The human mind is naturally resistant to things like giving and when it comes to tipping which is not compulsory, we tend to be more resistant. Personally, I stay resolute and resistant when I realize the other person is trying to force me to give a tip.
