Fear of the unknown

Hello friends. Welcome back this week to my blog. I have the honor to participate again this time. We are privileged indeed to have the opportunity of joining contest of this nature that helps us to brain storm.

Week 80:- Edition 02:- has a great topic that came with it- Terrifying Tale Have you ever been terrified before? Genuinely scared for your life? How did it happen?

I have had alot of terrifying situation from my childhood. As kids in the 80s, we come out in the evening to sit down and listen to great stories from our fathers. When our fathers were not available to tell us the stories, we tell ourselves stories. But it seems as if the stories from our fathers was not meant to frighten us, but to plant fear so that we will not engage in doing anything evil. Some of those stories has to do with a child that stool meat from the pot and when the mother asked and no one was ready to say the truth, she took them to a very to sing and cross the river. We were told that the child that stool the meat could not cross the river but fail inside and was not seen again. For some of us after hearing stories like this we became afraid of stealing, because we don't want the river to swallow us.

The story that we kids told ourselves was not meant to teach us since but for me it made me so afraid that most times I can't come out alone in the night. A boy told us a story of a 🐦 bird that cries in a village when ever some wants to die. He told us that once the bird start crying, then the following morning someone will just die. And in the village where I was then had a lots of birds crying or should I say singing. That story affected me so much that even in the morning when I see any bird on top of a 🌲 trees singing, I start running and thinking that I was going to do. At a time my people thought that I had ogbanje spirit because of the way I use to afraid everywhere I go to. I was taking to a spiritualist to stop the fear in me, but after that day the fear increased to level seven. Hahaha 😄. I became even more afraid.

How did you survive the situation?
Growth happened and every thing changed. I started seeing everything the way the really are. I began to understand what those stories meant. It was from this point that the fear reduced. Though, it didn't stop completely, but at least to an extent the fear reduced so that even when those stories are told I don't become frightening easily. I believe that when one grows, his ability to reason also grows. He or she becomes more wise and even the way and manner that we talk also changes.

Crying bird and then death follows that's actually very terrifying. Anytime it cries, people will be left with the question of who is next? Or who will it be...?
